To commission a custom painting of your pet or if you have questions about commissioning a painting, please email me,
dottie@wildwildthings.com.

1.  CONTACT ME FIRST, dottie@wildwildthings.com and SEND PHOTOS (preferably by email):

  • Size:  You'll need to send me four to seven large, color, clear, in-focus photos of your pet.  If they're actual paper photos, they
absolutely must be clear and large enough for me to see details.  My mailing address is listed below.  If they're virtual photos
(which is what I prefer), they must be clear, in focus, at least somewhat close, and at least 100Kb in size.  No flash photos,
please.   (And I'm sorry, I just cannot work anymore with poor quality photos.)
  • Composition:  If your pet likes a special toy or a ball, including that in the photo can often be really great.  If you want a full-
body painting, action shots can look great.  Try to photograph your pet when he/she is relaxed, maybe after a walk or a round
of play??  Most importantly, though, be sure that the photos you send include at least one shot that has the pose that you
want your pet to be painted in.
  • Setting or Background:  If you have a photo of a setting or background that you like, just let me know, and I can generally work
it into the painting (see note below:  "landscape" or other similarly complicated backgrounds do cost a little extra).  If instead
there's a specific color background you want, we can work that out, too.
  • Let me know your pet's name, her/his breed, personality, age, and anything else about her/him that you think I should know as I
    paint.
  • Also, let me know which of some of my earlier paintings you like.  I tend to paint in a few different styles, and it'll give me more
of an idea of what you would like.
  • And remember, I work with you all the way on the painting, and small changes can be made as I go.

2.  MAKE DEPOSIT:  A 1/3 deposit is required before painting is started.  (I'll send you an ebill after you've contacted me and sent
photos.)

3.  OPTIONAL ADDITIONS: Each additional pet per painting requires a 1/3 additional charge over the base price.  Sometimes if a
background you want is particularly complicated (see the Mount Hood Rottweiler painting for an example), I may have to charge a
small extra fee.

4.  TURNAROUND TIME:  Paintings are done in the order deposits are received.  Contact me,
dottie@wildwildthings.com, for
approximate turnaround time.
