| "LIFE IS SHORT; MAKE EVERY DAY SPECIAL - AND FUN!" - me |
| FOR A "TAKE YOUR CHANCES" OPTION, PLEASE READ ON: THE "SCOOP": You may be able to get a very low-cost ($100 + shipping) for an original 8x10" painting of your dog (or other pet. although I'll continue to use the word "dog" below) Depending on what your dog looks like, that is, whether I think I could sell subsequent images of him/her as an original, as prints, or pendants, I might (I really do my best to paint all good images submitted to me) paint your dog. You, the owner of the photo image, have a one-week first right to buy the original painting, but you are under no obligation to buy anything at all. I simply let you know when the painting is done, list it on my website, and if you like it, you buy it. If not, you never hear from me again and I make it available to the general public after the week. Of course, I will have prints and pendants, etc., available for your or anyone else's purchase as well. The "catch," in this arrangement is that you submit the photos to me, and I determine if they are images I would want to work with, but you have no ability to make specific requests about background, how they'll be done, etc. Realize that once I've done a painting, I own all copyrights to the painting, and that you get no compensation of any sort (other than the ability to buy the original of your pet at a fraction of my usual commission prices) for having submitted photos to me. Of course, you can buy nothing -- or you'll have the ability, as will all my customers, to buy a print, pendant, clock, etc., of your pet's painting. THE PHOTO IMAGES: Regarding the images, clear, close shots are best, and it must be your personally-owned photo. Shots at the dog's (or pet's) eye level are good, whether he/she is sitting or lying. Sometimes, though, I get some really cute shots looking down on the dog, who is looking up, too. I've got a few such paintings on my website, actually. The dog shouldn't have any clothing or scarf, anything that might make it difficult for me to sell prints to others or for that matter, to be able to see the dog's shape well. Several images are best, too, so I can get a good idea of what the dog looks like from several angles. The images again should be clear, not blurred, well-lit, not too far away, and the image size should be at least 100Kb so that I can see details well. I think that's all. If you have any other questions, just email me. |
